To see any films presented at the VQFF, you must become a member of The Vancouver Out On Screen Film and Video Society (Out On Screen). The Festival presents films in compliance with the Motion Picture Act and Consumer Protection BC. Also, your membership demonstrates support of our mission to illuminate, celebrate and advance queer lives through film, education and dialogue.
Your membership may be purchased online or at the Membership Table prior to your first screening. Photo ID required.
Revenue generated by memberships supports the VQFF and Out in Schools. By purchasing a membership, you’re making an investment in Out On Screen, and in our communities.
Remember: you must show your membership card at every screening. If you lose or forget your card, you’ll need to purchase a new one.
Adult (voting) membership is available to anyone 18 years or over at a cost of $5. As a voting member you can attend our AGM in 2017.
A Youth (non-voting) membership is available to anyone under 17yrs & under, at a cost of $2. This membership tier only allows minors to attend youth-rated screenings.
Any third-party ticketing fees will be added to your order total. We try and ensure that fees are kept to a minimum.
Online orders available for pick-up at the venue for your first screening. Bring your ID and arrive 30-45 minutes before the screening time.
Print-at-home: Skip the Will Call line and print your tickets from home. (Keep in mind we’re unable to accept tickets on your electronic device.)
Sorry, but we do not offer refunds or exchanges unless a screening is cancelled due to technical problems.
Relax, get comfy and socialize. If you have your ticket to the next screening, wait for us to verify your ticket or screening slip and take time to make new friends, visit the concession stand or take a quick nap. Note: in rare circumstances we may need to do some on-screen tests and will need you to temporarily leave the auditorium.
Don’t despair! Odds are, we’ll still have a few tickets to sell just before show time. Join the Hope Line and we hope you’ll be in luck. Generally only 20% of our screenings sell out completely.
Latest screening changes and ticketing news are regularly added on our website, through Twitter and Facebook.
