Thank you to all who made this event possible: the staff and volunteers at VIFF Vancity Theatre, VQFF’s own enthusiastic volunteers, and the audience who filled every seat and set the mood for an excellent evening. Thank you to Brian Elliot for all of the amazing photos!

Directed by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, the film’s intimate look at Robert Mapplethorpe’s life was accentuated by interviews with his friends, lovers, and collaborators. This was the Vancouver premiere of Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures, on the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.

There was a buzz around the venue as everyone was excited and happy to reunite with friends, and to meet new fellow film enthusiasts.
